The Importance of Using an Alcohol-Free Mouth Rinse:

While mouth rinses are a common household product, it is not widely known that the alcohol content in mouth rinses can be dangerous to young children. The high alcohol content could have adverse consequences; only a small amount of mouth rinse with alcohol ingested can cause a high blood alcohol content in a child very quickly. For example, a small child who drinks a half-cup of mouth rinse, with an alcohol content of 27 per cent (54 proof), is taking-in a dangerous level of alcohol.

Surprisingly, commercial mouth rinses may contain more alcohol than wine or beer. Some mouth rinses contain up to 26.9 percent alcohol, compared to beer which is 5 to 7 percent or wine which has 12 to 14 percent alcohol. Alcohol intoxicates and burns, yet it is the main ingredient in many leading mouth rinses. It can irritate and dry out the mucous lining in your mouth. It can soften, damage and discolor your fillings, and cause an unhealthy imbalance in your mouth by killing off all bacteria good and bad.

Prevention Anti-Bacterial Mouth Rinse is an alcohol-free rinse that is gentle, does not burn or dry the oral tissues and still fights germs that cause plaque and bad breath.

The Importance of Using a Dye-Free Mouth Rinse:

Studies have shown that there may be a link between consumption of artificial dyes and skin problems including eczema and hives as well as possibly causing hyperactivity in children. Prevention Anti-Bacterial Mouth Rinse is a dye-free formula and therefore is safe for children to swallow up to a capful amount without any of the above mentioned adverse effects.

Prevention Anti-Bacterial Mouth Rinse is available in a 1oz, 4oz, 8oz and 16oz, and can be purchased at www.preventionlabs.com as well as in all fine stores.
